All discussion topics can be moderated. This is extremely useful because it means you can monitor the posts which go up on the site.
'Open' allows any user to post and posts will appear on the site immediately.
'Moderated' means posts must be approved by an administrator before others can see them.
'Closed' means that only approved administrators may post a comment.
